STEVEN R. BELLAH Founder and Managing Member
 

With over 35 years of commercial finance, managerial, and advisory experience, Steve is an expert in most facets of investment management ranging from new business origination and underwriting to distressed workouts.

 

Key career engagements include building and managing substantial businesses and portfolios for some of the nation’s leading institutions including: The CIT Group, GE Capital, and Wells Fargo Foothill.

Both a builder and change-agent, Steve has substantial experience with complex transactions including management buyouts, leveraged buyouts, turnarounds, debtor-in-possession financing, changes of control and special situations.

 

He has also successfully built new territories and provided division level management.

 

His advisory and management expertise includes extensive work in portfolio management, cash-flow management, profitability analysis, asset-based lending, subordinated capital, securitizations, leasing, term loans, and factoring.

 

His core areas of expertise include financial services management, consumer goods, oil field services, lending to retailers, leveraged buyout and distress financing.

Steve holds a BA in Economics and Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. 

Steve is married with 4 daughters and loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fresh air.

JOE KENARY Senior Advisor

Joseph A. Kenary, Jr. currently serves as an Advisor to Atalaya Capital, an investment fund based in New York, working with certain portfolio companies in the specialty finance market.  Previously, he was an EVP at Alliance Partners, an asset manager that selected, underwrote, and allocated commercial loans for a network of community banks.  He was principally responsible for constructing the portfolio, which grew from startup to roughly $1.4 billion over his 5 years there.  Prior to joining Alliance Partners, he was one of the founding employees of CapitalSource, where he wrote the business plan and subsequently organized, built, and managed the Leveraged Finance business of CapitalSource.  CapitalSource became a publicly traded company with over $10 billion in assets.  From 2008-2011, he served as its Chief Investment Officer when CapitalSource acquired a bank at the onset of the financial crisis.  During that time, he was responsible for managing and winding down the $8 billion capital markets funded (non-bank) portfolio of CapitalSource. 

Mr. Kenary was previously at Heller HealthCare Finance and its predecessor company, HealthCare Financial Partners where he underwrote and executed financings to small and middle market health care companies. Before joining HealthCare Financial Partners, Mr. Kenary worked in private equity investing at Thayer Capital Partners, ABS Capital Partners and Advent International, where he executed recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts and growth equity investments.

Mr. Kenary served as a Trustee of the Landon School from 2007-2017.  He was a member of the Finance committee from 2007-2014. He was the chair of the Endowment Committee from 2008-2014, managing the endowment through the financial crisis and facilitated the transition of the management of the endowment portfolio.  He was a member of the Executive Committee from 2008-2017.  He served as the Board Chair from 2014-2017, during that time he was actively involved in the leadership transition, working closely with the outgoing Headmaster and recruiting and integrating the current Headmaster.  In his final year as Board Chair, he actively oversaw the strategic planning that resulted in Landon’s first Strategic Plan in twelve years.

He received his BA from Harvard College and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

He and his wife have four children, and he has coached ice hockey for the past 15 years.

VICTORIA TIERNEY Controller

Victoria is an accounting professional with 35 years of experience ranging from basic daily accounting functions to public company disclosures. She has worked in numerous industries including a concentration in Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Finance.

 

She has expertise in management/financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, auditing, SOX controls, financial integration of acquired assets, core and financial systems conversions and related process re-engineering.

 

Prior to Remuda Advisors, Victoria was Vice President & Controller for Triumph Business Capital, part of the Triumph Bancorp, Inc. family of companies. Triumph Business Capital provides invoice factoring primarily for small to mid-size trucking companies and freight brokers as well as government contractors, staffing firms, and oil and gas companies.

 

She also previously worked at Woodbine Development Co., Centre Development Co., Harwood International and Trizec Properties, Inc. providing commercial property management, development and construction services.

 

Victoria holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from the State University of New York, College at Oswego.   

 

She is also a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.

EDWARD DOUGLAS Senior Analyst

Most recently, Mr. Douglas was a Senior Analyst with RDL Realization, PLC where he was charged with Investor Reporting and Investor Relations. Prior to RDL, Mr. Douglas was Vice President – Senior Analyst of Imperium Global Partners where he was responsible for Loan Underwriting, Risk Analysis and Portfolio Management. He has served as a Director of Business Development at Lockwood Capital, LLC, an investment research firm, since 2010 where he worked with over fifteen national energy service companies and remarketers to originate and structure asset-based loans collateralized by accounts receivable. He has extensive experience with financial modeling to determine viability and operating performance of potential investments, and to assess and mitigate risk. Beginning in 2006, he was a Senior Associate at New Stream Capital, LLC, a multi-strat hedge fund, and was a Director when he left his post in 2010.  

 

Between college and business school, Mr. Douglas held various positions, to include Portfolio Accountant at State Street Bank & Trust, Co. and Operations Officer at Ledger Activated Business Systems, Inc.

 

He received his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut in 2006.  While pursuing his M.B.A., he worked at General Electric as a Risk Analyst in Consumer Finance.  Mr. Douglas has a B.S. in Finance, also from the University of Connecticut in 1995.   

 

Mr. Douglas has served in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years both actively and in the reserves. Eddie retired from the U.S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer.
